LOMPOC, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's golf team is currently in 18th place after two rounds of play on Monday at the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc. The Broncos were led by John Colyar (72-81) and Eric Lillibridge (76-77), who both carded 153s, and are currently in an 11-way tie for 49th place, just nine strokes over par.

The 21-team field played 36 holes today in windy conditions, and Santa Clara carded rounds of 299 and 318 for a 617 total, 41 strokes over par. Michael Nicoletti (75-81) and Jong Yoon (76-80) are just three strokes behind their teammates, after both carded 156s to tie for 72nd. Jonathan Edwards follows closely behind with a 78-80--158, good for 82nd place.

UC Davis leads the team competition, with a 12-over 588, four strokes ahead of Washington State. Hawaii, UC Riverside and Cal Poly round out the top five heading into Tuesday's final round, which begins with tee times at 7 a.m. La Purisima is a 6,670-yard, par-72 course. It played host to the 1997 PGA Tour School Finals.

Washington State's David Fern leads all individuals, posting the only under-par score of the day, as he was in at two-under 73-69--142 for a three-stroke lead over Cal Poly's J.J. Scurich (72-73--145) and Brandon Hillpot of UC Riverside (76-69--145).
