Men's Golf in 11th Place at Hawaii Intercollegiate

OAHU, Hawaii - The Santa University men's golf team is currently in 11th place after the first round of play at the UH/Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Hawaii at the Links at Turtle Bay Resort on the island of Oahu.

Jong Yoon is currently tied for 24th place, after carding a one-over-par 73. Teammates Michael Nicoletti and Jonathan Edwards are tied for 46th, after both registered 75s. John Colyar posted a 76 and Kellen Moss is in at 78.

Santa Clara carded an 11-over-par 299, marking the fourth straight team round under the 300 plateau. Today's action was played on a par-72, 7,199-yard layout of the Arnold Palmer course. UNLV currently leads the 19-team competition, with a two-under 286. Central Oklahoma and UC Riverside are tied for second and Virginia is in fourth place. Host Hawaii currently sits fifth.

The second round continues on Tuesday morning, on the George Fazio Course, a par-72, 6,535-yard layout. Golfers will tee off in the double-tee format. Wednesday's final round will return to the Arnold Palmer course for a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
