Miller Signs NLI with Men's Golf

Nov. 18, 2004

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University head men's golf coach John Kennaday has signed Michael Miller of Fresno to a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period that began last Wednesday.

Miller is a product of San Joaquin Memorial High School. He led his team to the League and Valley Championship last season, while also earning the 2004 Sectional CIP Individual medalist honors. A team captain, the 6-0 right-hander was also named team MVP last season.

Miller also won his first national competition, the IJGT at Bayonet and Blackhorse in December 2003, and placed sixth at the Mizuno Mid-Season Championship in Phoenix in January. He is coached privately by Tommy Masters at the San Joaquin Country Club and has a very strong short game.

"Michael is a very strong student-athlete," Kennaday said. "I think he'll be a great fit with the team chemistry we currently enjoy."

The Broncos have concluded their fall season and will return to action in mid-February.
