SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Broncos concluded play in their final tune-up before the WCC Championships Tuesday at the Cowboy Classic at the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., hosted by the University of Wyoming. Jong Yoon and Blair Myers led the way for the Broncos, finishing a stroke a part as the Broncos tied for 20th place.

"It was a tough day," said head coach Rob Miller. "This spring we've been patching lineups together trying different combinations of who is hot in preparation for the conference championships. But today we struggled with the putters, and that's what it takes to be successful at this level."

Myers had the best score of the day for the Broncos, a final round 73 to finish tied for 64th with a combined score of 220. Yoon was a stroke ahead overall at 219 but shot a final round 75.

"Blair [Myers] is starting to find the form he had earlier this season," said Miller. "He's been posting some better scores. He had a good tournament and it's nice to see him playing well again."

Miller echoed the same message about Yoon as the team prepares for the WCC Championships.

"Jong is ready. He's been a little up and down this spring, but he is our leader out there and we need him to lead our team next week," Miller said.

Rounding out the pack for the Broncos at the Cowboy Classic were Eric Lillibridge, Tim Lynch and Kellen Moss. Lillibridge shot a final round of 76 to finish tied for 88th. Lynch had a final round of 75 to finish tied for 91st and Moss also had a final round 75, finishing tied for 97th as the three finished with combined scores of 224, 225, and 227, respectively.

Next Monday, April 16 the Broncos will be in Lompoc, Calif. at the La Purisima Golf Club for the WCC Championships. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
