SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's golf team will travel to Fairfax to take part in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by the University of California beginning Monday, October 9th at the Meadow Club.

The Broncos have been off for the past four weeks since finishing in a tie for 9th place at the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif. Since then, the team has turned in seven qualifying rounds in preparation for Monday's event.

"We've got a very young, talented team with a lot of depth", said head coach Rob Miller. "Everyone is excited about this tournament, and looking to do well."

Santa Clara will likely be starting a group of veterans, including senior Jong Yoon, juniors Blair Meyers and Kellen Moss.

"They've played very strong this season," Miller said of Yoon, Meyers and Moss. "They've worked very hard on their games and have been solid since day 1."

This will be Santa Clara's first visit to the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, though freshman Jimmy Cacho has played at the Meadow Club before, coming from Green Valley, Calif.

Santa Clara will play a practice round on Sunday before playing 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday.
