Palo Alto, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's tennis team wrapped up a long weekend of tennis on Sunday at the ITA Northwest Regionals at Stanford University. In Sunday's action, the Broncos won four singles matches, while the doubles duo of Kevin McQuaid and Blane Shields were knocked out of the main doubles draw by the tournament's second seed.
In singles, Shields, Tommy Hicks, Bobby Rasmussen and Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong all won their final matches of the tournament in the consolation bracket. On the weekend, Shields won four singles matches and a doubles match to post a 5-2 record overall.
The only doubles match of the day saw McQuaid and Shields fall 8-3 to the tournament's No. 2 seed of Pierre Mouillon and Daniel Sebescen from Cal.
