BEAUMONT, Calif. - Sophomore Miki Ueoka finished two-over par 74 to claim second place at the 2009 UC Riverside Lady Braveheart Invitational. It's the Lihue, Hawai'i, native's second-best career performance as she won the individual title at the Boise State Bronco Invitational in October. As a team, the Broncos finished in eighth place (324) and just one stroke behind conference rival Portland (323).

Winning the individual title was Malin Thorberg of California Baptist University. She shot one-over par 73, while Nova Southeastern University took home the team championship with a final score of 305. Due to inclement weather on Monday, the Lady Braveheart Invitational consisted of just one round of 18.

Also competing for the Broncos was freshman Tammy Surtees, who was eight-over par 81 and finished tied for 21st place. Juniors Erin Sullivan and Kimberly Bedolla rounded out Santa Clara's top-50 finishers tied for 47th with a round of 84 each.

The Broncos return to action on Feb. 15-17 at the Aztec Invitational, hosted by San Diego State. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat.com for the three-day event.
