Women's Golf Participates At Cal Poly Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's golf team completes the fall season at the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Women's Invitational on Nov. 3-4 at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande.

The Cypress Ridge Golf Club is laid out over 5,969 yards and boasts a par of 72. The Broncos come off of a tied for first finish at the Boise State Invitational and hope to close out the fall season with a strong performance this week.

Sophomore Miki Ueoka earned medalist honors at the Boise State Invitational and hopes to build upon her second place finish from last year. Freshman Meaghan Kari and Tammy Surtees also hope to build upon their impressive play this fall season.

Their will be 16 other teams in the tournament field including conference rival Gonzaga. The Broncos finished fourth in last year's tournament. UC Riverside's Jennifer Bermingham will try and defend her title as tournament medalist. Past champions for the Broncos include Samantha Trask in 2004 with a win margin of five shots.

The Broncos open the Spring 2009 Tournament schedule with the UC Riverside Lady Braveheart on Feb. 9-10 at Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont, Calif.
