ELK GROVE, Calif. - Santa Clara's Miki Ueoka's earned her third career win on Tuesday at the Sacramento State Invitational with a final round 71. Santa Clara as a team compiled a 618 two-round score to finish six strokes ahead of host-Sacramento State to win its second tournament of the season.

"Our goal was to take care of business and bring home the win," said head coach Polly Schulze. "In the Boise State event, we tied for first place and it came down to a card-off. We really wanted to win this tournament. It was a great team effort and will give us confidence going into the West Coast Conference championships."

"It feels great," said Ueoka, who won her second straight title. "I was really glad I was able to keep up my level of play. As a team we posted really good scores and I hope we can carry this momentum into the WCC Championships."

There were 36 golfers competing in the tournament, representing seven schools -- CSU Bakersfield, CSU San Marcos, Montana State University, University of North Dakota and Sacramento State, Santa Clara and UC Davis.

Freshman Tammy Surtees posted a 78 in the second round to finish 158 and tied for ninth with fellow freshman Meaghan Kari. Sophomore Katie Sharpe was one stroke behind (159) and finished 11th, while junior Erin Sullivan tied for 15th place with a score of 161.

The Broncos won their first team title of the season at the Boise State Bronco Invitational in October. Ueoka was also the individual medalist at the event. Ueoka earned her second career title at the Fresno State Invitational in February.

Santa Clara returns to action on April 13-14 at the West Coast Conference Championships at Hiddenbrook Golf Course and Vallejo, Calif.
