Three Broncos Selected to Great Britain’s Softball World Cup Roster

British Softball Federation Release

LONDON - The British Softball Federation announced on Monday the 16 players and three alternates for the Great Britain Women's Senior National Fastpitch Team that include three Santa Clara softball players.

Cameron McGinnis and Morgan Salmon were named to the 16 player roster while Hannah Edwards was named as an alternate.

The Bronco trio will represent Great Britain at the 2023 Softball World Cup Pool A in Dublin, Ireland next month.

McGinnis and Salmon, who completed their junior and sophomore seasons, respectively, are repeat selections from a year ago when the team won silver medal at the European Women's Championship.  Edwards, a redshirt sophomore, is no stranger to the GB National Team having played for the u16, u18 and U22 squads including the silver medal winning squad at the 2019 European Championships.

This year's GB National Team roster selection took place following a four-day tryout held in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Santa Clara is the only school with multiple representation on the team.

In previous years, Santa Clara head softball coach Gina Carbonatto, who just completed fourth season on the Mission Campus, served as an assistant coach of Great Britain's Under-22 Women's Team, a role she has held since 2018.
