Volleyball Splits Season Series With No. 14 BYU

After defeating No. 14 BYU at home on Oct. 20, BYU returned the favor on Saturday when No. 14 the Cougars defeated Santa Clara 3-0 in Provo.  Set scores were 9-25, 19-25 and 20-25.  Santa Clara returns home Thursday to host LMU in the final regular season home match of the year and it will honor its seniors that night as well.

Santa Clara is 20-9 and 9-5 in the West Coast Conference.  BYU is 24-2 and 12-2 in the WCC.

Santa Clara was led by Megan Anders who collected nine kills and two block assists.  Taylor Milton had six kills and 10 digs.  Haley Cameron hit .412 with eight kills (1 e, 17 att.).  Alyssa Anderson collected 19 assists and four digs.  Chelsea Heier had 11 assists.  Katy Schatzman added 10 digs.

BYU was led by Alexa Gray's 13 kills and Jennifer Hamson collected 11.

Santa Clara hit .147 with 34 kills (19 e, 102 att.).  They collected 33 assists, one ace, seven service errors, 37 digs and three team blocks.  BYU hit .355 with 42 kills (9 e, 93 att.).  They scored 39 assists, seven aces, three service errors, 43 digs and eight team blocks.
