Men’s Tennis Travels to Cal Poly and Sacramento State This Weekend

FEB. 23 UPDATE: the match against Sacramento State originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24 has been postponed until Sunday, Feb. 28.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis plays a pair of road matches this weekend facing Cal Poly on Saturday and Sacramento State on Sunday.

The Broncos (1-0) are coming off a 4-3 win over UC Davis in the season opener on Feb. 18.

Cal Poly (3-4) already has played in seven matches including three against West Coast Conference foes winning against Saint Mary's but falling to San Diego and Pepperdine.

For Sacramento State (1-3), Sunday's match is the fifth of a 12-match homestand to open the season.  Thus far, Sacramento State is 1-3 during the stretch with the lone win coming against Nevada last week.  The Hornets last played on Saturday, falling to Grand Canyon 4-2.

Santa Clara got strong performances from the bottom of the singles lineup in the season opener, winning on courts four, five and six by freshman Guillaume Dalmasso, junior Arthur Neuhaus and sophomore Nick Cmager.

Last season, the Broncos swept Sacramento State 7-0 at home but the match against Cal Poly was canceled due to the COVID pandemic.
