SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off a 4-3 West Coast conference road win at Saint Mary's last Saturday, Santa Clara men's tennis will look to continue the momentum when they host Portland and Gonzaga this weekend.

Santa Clara (4-6, 1-3) will play Portland on Saturday and Gonzaga on Sunday with first serve for both matches at 11 a.m. in Degheri Tennis Center.

Unfortunately, due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases with the campus community we are still not able to allow fans into the facility at this time. The priority continues to be the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches and staff so the university will continue to evaluate campus policies. While the state of California announced guidance for outdoor seated venues on April 1, the university reserves the right to be more cautious than public health guidance.

The Broncos took down Saint Mary's last weekend on Santiago Hinojosa's three-set match cincher with the team score tied at 3-all.  The win was the team's first conference victory and helped snap a three-match losing skid.

Portland (8-3, 2-1) suffered its first conference loss of the season in the last match, falling to BYU 4-3 at home.  This season, the Pilots are 2-2 away from home including 1-2 in true road contests.  They will play at San Francisco on Friday prior to facing the Broncos on Saturday.

Gonzaga (11-7, 0-3) comes to the Bay Area on a four-match losing streak, three of them against conference opponents.  The Bulldogs take on San Francisco on Saturday before the matchup with the Broncos on Sunday.  Gonzaga has only played four of its 18 matches away from home and are 1-3 in those contests including 0-2 in true road matches.
