MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Santa Clara women's golf team recovered from a disappointing second round to shoot a final round 301 for a ninth-place finish at the 22-team Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, completed Tuesday at the 6,186-yard, par-72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

The Broncos maintained their ninth place standing finishing with a three round score of 912 (295-316-301). Nevada claimed the team title at 888, seven shots better than Washington State (895) and 11 ahead of third place Lamar. A damaging second round dropped the Broncos from second place after the first 18 holes and the team couldn't make up the distance Tuesday.

Individually the Broncos were led by sophomore Annie Freman, who tied for fifth at 4-over 220 following a final round 74. Freman earned her third top-5 finish of the year with a season-low 54-hole score.

Freshman Kristin Le led the 115-player field with 12 birdies and tied for ninth at 5-over 221 for her fourth top-10 finish of the year.

Senior Kaci McCartan, competing as an individual, dropped out of the top 10 following her final round 79 and finished tied for 25th at 226. Junior Meghan Shain rebounded with a final round 76 to finish at 231 tied for 50th.

Monique Riley ended at 240 (77-86-77) and Ashley Noda completed her rounds at 244 (79-86-79).

Boise State's Genevieve Ling captured individual medalist honors with an even-par 216 (72-73-71), two shots better than runner-up Wenny Chang of Lamar.

The Broncos will prepare for next week's West Coast Conference championship, which begins Monday at the Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Calif.
