SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer released its 2015 schedule today. The Broncos open the season Aug. 21 at UC Davis. The first home game comes Sept. 11 vs. Oklahoma at the newly renovated Buck Shaw Stadium. Santa Clara will play 20 regular season games and nine at home, with a trip to South Bend early in the year.
"We're really excited about our fall season and the schedule we've been able to put together," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "Our non-conference season is full of quality opponents that will get us ready for a tough conference season. Hopefully between the two we will be prepared for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament."
After playing at Davis and Arizona on the opening weekend, Santa Clara will play in the Notre Dame Invitational Aug. 28 and 30 vs. Notre Dame and Northwestern. The home-opener vs. Oklahoma will be a double-header with men's soccer.
Santa Clara will host Penn State, Northridge, and Stanford as well during the home stand. After one game away the Broncos begin conference play with three games at home. They will take a break from WCC action on Oct. 15 and travel to Cal.
Senior Day will be Oct. 24 when the Broncos take on the Cougars of BYU. The regular season concludes with three games on the road. The season finale will be Nov. 7 at Gonzaga.
