Meet the Future of Santa Clara Women's Soccer: Kaitlyn Parcell

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Preparing for the future, the Santa Clara women's team welcomes Kaitlyn Parcell from the 2016 signing class to the Bronco roster.

"The school's academics and soccer program drew me to the school, but the friendliness of the student body and homey feeling I got on campus sealed the deal," said Parcell.

"I'm excited for Kaitlyn to play for us.," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "She is a very quick wide player. Her best position will be winger and she's very skilled on the ball. Her transition defense is one of her best qualities so she'll have an impact both attacking and defending."

A native of Spring Lake, N.J., Parcell currently plays her soccer at Palisades Charter High School in Southern California. Primarily a two-sport athlete, playing both soccer and lacrosse, Parcell has racked up numerous wins and awards during her time on the field. On the pitch, Parcell led her team to 42 wins during her first three years and also finished each of those seasons atop the team leader board in points. So far during her senior campaign, Parcell, wearing the captain's honor, has 12 goals to go along with 12 assists.

Recognized for her success, Parcell has been named to the All League team after each high school season to date. She has also received two team offensive MVP awards.

Away from the game, Parcell is a secretary for the "A Call Away" organization, a group that helps families manage daily life while they have loved ones in the hospital. She is also the founder of Big Sister Sports, an organization that helps middle school students develop as student-athletes.

In her free time, Parcell enjoys going to the beach, surfing, reading, listening to music and hanging out with her friends and family.
