SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Heading into the home stretch of the regular season, No. 15 Santa Clara women's soccer hits the road for a pair of games this weekend. On Friday the Broncos (11-5-1, 4-1-1 WCC) play at Saint Mary's at noon and on Sunday they play at Pacific at 2:30 p.m. Last week, Santa Clara topped San Diego 2-1 and tied No. 5 BYU 0-0 on senior day.

Grace Cutler leads Santa Clara, which is third in the West Coast Conference standings, with five goals and 10 points. Julie Vass has found the back of the net four times and added an assist. Dani Weatherholt has scored three times and added two assists while Mariana Galvan has scored three goals. Four other Broncos have scored at least once. Megan Crosson is second in the WCC with six assists and eight other Santa Clara players have at least one assist.

Andi Tostanoski has allowed nine goals and is second in the conference with a 0.53 GAA. She has made 74 saves and is also second in the WCC with a .892 save percentage. She has collected eight shutouts.

"It's tough for teams to do well when they have it easy at the end of the season," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "What you want heading into the NCAA tournament is must-win games and tough circumstances because that helps you stay prepared. Two years ago all we needed to do was tie at Portland to be outright WCC champions and we ended up losing because we weren't as aggressive as we should have been. Our team has to show up for every game and play well, which is what you want. You want momentum heading into the NCAA tournament and our position will cause us to stay on the front foot."

Santa Clara is 31-3-4 all-time vs. Saint Mary's with the first meeting coming in 1981. Last year Santa Clara won 3-0 at home on Senior Day.

Saint Mary's (7-7-3, 2-3-1 WCC) is 3-4-2 at home on the season. Last week they won 2-1 at San Diego before falling in doubled overtime at home to Pacific by a final of 2-1.

Hanna Diaz leads the Gaels with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Samantha Dion has scored five goals and added three assists for 13 points. Kiana Quarles has found the back of the net three times and three other players have a goal each. Jessica Imbrie leads the team with four assists.

Julia McDonald has allowed 16 goals for a .880 GAA. She has made 78 saves for a .830 save percentage and has six shutouts.

"Saint Mary's is having a nice season and they have a new coaching staff," said Smith. "Any time you play against a new coaching staff you're not exactly sure what to prepare for. One of their new coaches is one of our former players so she knows what we do. We can take some confidence going into the weekend knowing that we've been really good on the road. We've had some really good teams here that couldn't win on the road or come from behind and this team has shown the ability to do both those things. We feel good about where the team is right now and we'll take a very close look at our two opponents this week because we know they'll both be tough."

Santa Clara is 9-0-0 all-time vs. Pacific with the first meeting coming in 1981. Last year the Broncos won 2-0 at home.

Pacific (3-10-1, 2-4-0 WCC) is 2-4-1 at home this year. Last week they lost at NO. 5 BYU 2-0 before coming back with a 2-1 double-overtime win at Saint Mary's.

Alex Hussar leads Pacific with four goals and eight points. Four other Tigers have scored one goal each. The team has three players with one assist apiece.

Lena Perry has played the majority of the season in goal and has allowed 14 goals for a 1.41 GAA. She has made 66 saves for a .825 save percentage.
