Four Women's Soccer Players Honored on All-West Region Teams

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off a return to the NCAA tournament, Santa Clara women's soccer had four players honored on the All-West Region teams on Tuesday. Julie Vass was named to the first team, Kellie Peay to the second team, and Andi Tostanoski and Dani Weatherholt were named to the third team. The West Coast Conference dominated the region, with 17 of 33 honors.

"We are very proud to have four players receive All-Region recognition," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "We are especially happy that Julie Vass was honored on the first team."

Vass, a First Team All-WCC selection, tied for third in the WCC with eight goals and had 17 points. She also led the Broncos with five game-winning goals.

Peay started all 22 games for the Broncos and scored two goals with one assist from the back line. She also leads the Broncos in minutes played.

Tostanoski was a force in net while allowing just 14 goals for a 0.63 GAA, good for second in the conference. She made the third-most saves in the WCC with 92 and had a .868 save percentage, which was No. 12 in the country. Tostanoski picked up a league-leading 10 shutouts.

Weatherholt started all 22 games and scored three goals to go with two assists. She scored the game-winner in the Broncos win over then-No. 6 Stanford.
