Women's Soccer Seniors Nab All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Santa Clara women's soccer continued to have the accolades roll in as seniors Alex Loera and Kelsey Turnbow were named All-America on Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches.

Loera was named to the Second Team with Turnbow making the Third Team. Both were named First Team All-West Region earlier this week after being named First Team-All WCC in April.

Loera, who was also named the WCC Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, has been an anchor on the back line. She has helped the Broncos post six shutouts, including two in a row and three in the last four matches. They have allowed just seven goals in 10 matches this season. Loera has one assist this year.

Turnbow has helped lead a powerhouse offense that is No. 7 in the country with 2.6 goals per game and No. 6 with 7.9 points per game. Turnbow leads the Broncos with eight goals and 20 points while adding three game-winners. She is tied for 11th in the country with 2.0 points per game.

This year's All-Americans will be recognized as part of the United Soccer Coaches College Awards Ceremony, which will be made available to view online as a digital event beginning June 30.

The No.11 seed Broncos will face No. 2 seed North Carolina Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Pacific in the national semifinals of the NCAA Tournament in Cary, N.C. The match will air on ESPN2 and can also be watched on ESPN.com/watch with Jenn Hildreth and Lori Lindsey on the call.

Tickets can be purchased here.
