CARY, N.C. – With a national title on the line, Santa Clara women's soccer faces top-seeded Florida State in the College Cup final of the NCAA Tournament Monday at 2:30 p.m. Pacific.

The Broncos topped No. 2 seed North Carolina 3-1 in their 11th semifinals, tied for third-most all-time, on Sunday night to advance to their third national title game.

The Seminoles advanced after penalty kicks against Virginia in the first semifinal match.

The Broncos won a national championship in 2001 and Florida State has a pair of national titles, winning in 2014 and 2018. Santa Clara, which also appeared in the 2002 title match, is seeking to become just the seventh program to win multiple championships.

Santa Clara has outscored its opponents 10-2 in the NCAA Tournament while the Seminoles hold a 6-1 advantage.

The match, which will air on ESPN2, will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park where capacity will be at 30 percent and tickets available to the general public.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara won the only previous matchup in the series against Florida State. The Broncos topped the Seminoles 4-1 at the Nike Wake Forest Invite in Winston-Salem, N.C. in 2001, the year Santa Clara won the national championship.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (10-1) is No. 7 in the country in scoring 2.6 goals per game. The Broncos are No. 6 with 7.9 points per game. They have outscored their opponents 29-8 on the year while outshooting teams 159-93 and 90-45 in shots on goal.

Kelsey Turnbow's nine goals are tops on the team, as are her 22 points. Izzy D'Aquila has found the back of the net eight times and added three assists for 19 points. Sally Menti's six assists lead the Broncos and has added two goals as well. Skylar Smith has scored four times, three coming in the NCAA Tournament, to go with one assist. Julie Doyle has added four assists and a goal and Keren Goor has three assists and a goal.

Marlee Nicolos has allowed eight goals and has a 0.78 GAA while posting 31 saves for a .795 save percentage. Santa Clara has six clean sheets on the year.

THE SEMINOLES
Florida State (13-0-2) has a 40-7 goal differential on the year but has had a pair of scoreless draws in the last two matches. Despite the lack of goals in the last two games, the Seminoles are fifth nationally with 2.7 goals per match and seventh with 7.3 points per game. They have outshot teams 265-61 and hold a 116-36 advantage in shots on target.

Clara Robbins leads the team with six goals, six assists, and 18 points. Leilanni Nesbeth, Jaelin Howell, and Jody Brown each have five goals with Jenna Nighswonger and Kristina Lynch both adding four.

Cristina Roque has allowed seven goals for a 0.46 GAA and has 26 saves for a .788 save percentage. Florida State has 11 shutouts this season.
