Meet the Future of Santa Clara Softball: Aubree Kim

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball head coach Lisa Mize has signed six NLIs for the 2016 season. Aubree Kim, a pitcher from Mililani, Hawaii attended Mililani High School.

"Everything that I was looking for athletically and academically in a school can be found at Santa Clara," said Kim. "I knew immediately that I wanted to attend Santa Clara, not only to play softball, but to attend an academically challenging school with top-notch business and law schools. I feel really lucky to be heading to Santa Clara."

"Aubree brings a strong arm to the pitching circle and is known for her speed and fierce competitiveness," said Mize. "She will be fun to watch and add great upside to our pitching staff."

Kim was named the 2014 Gatorade State Player of the Year. That year she was also named All-State Pitcher of the Year, All-Conference First Team, Hawaii State Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and Mililani High School Softball MVP.

The past two seasons her team was Oahu Interscholastic Association champions. In 2015 they were runners-up for the state championship and in 2014 they won the state championship.

As a member of the Guava Jam Softball Club Kim won the 16U Place Champions Cup in 2014. In 2013 they were finished in first place at the Rainbow Invitational and were state champions. That season the team also won the Hawaii Invitational. In 2011 her team was state champions.

Off the field she was a member of the Girl Scouts for 11 years.

Kim enjoys hiking, going to the beach, shopping, and eating.
