Meet the Future of Santa Clara Softball: Eleni Spirakis

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball head coach Lisa Mize has signed six student-athletes to  NLIs for the 2016 season. Eleni Spirakis, a utility from Saratoga, Calif., attended Saratoga High School.

"I chose Santa Clara for its location in Silicon Valley," said Spirakis. "They have a great engineering program and a small town feel on campus. The new softball facility is also incredible."

"Eleni is very talented both offensively and defensively and can play multiple positions," said Mize. "She will be a great addition to the Santa Clara softball family."

Spirakis has been a member of varsity softball since her freshman year and was the team MVP as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. She was all-league in each of her first three years of high school. As a junior Spirakis was San Jose Mercury News All-Softball honorable mention. As a freshman she was the CCS Freshman of the Year. She is also the all-time hit leader at Saratoga High School.

The team made it to CCS playoffs in each of her first three years on the team.

She also played for the 18 Gold San Jose Sting in 2015. She led the team in hitting with a.462 batting average and posted at 1.093 OPS.
