SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball kicks off West Coast Conference play with a trip to Pacific this weekend. The Broncos and Tigers will play a double-header Saturday and wrap up the series Sunday.

Casandra Padilla leads Santa Clara in batting average (.310), on-base percentage (.367), slugging percentage (.450), runs scored (13), doubles (8), home runs (2), and RBIs (16).

Justine Garner is tied with Padilla for the team lead with eight doubles, two home runs, and 13 runs scored. She has added 10 RBI and a team-best 10 walks as well.

Freshman Kelsie Barnard has 14 RBIs to go with six doubles, a triple, and a home run.

Micaela Vierra leads the pitching staff with 50 strikeouts. She has appeared in 24 games and made 17 starts while tossing eight complete games and two shutouts over 99 2/3 innings.

McCall James has appeared in 22 games and made 17 starts with eight complete games. He has pitched a team-best 101 innings.

Pacific is hitting .274 as a team with a team ERA of 3.75. The Tigers have outscored opponents 121-120 this season.

Rachel Sellers is the top offensive performer for Pacific. Her .382 batting average and eight doubles lead the team. She has added four home runs and 18 RBIs to go with 10 runs scored.

Marissa Young has appeared in 14 games and made 12 stars with six complete games and three shutouts. She has tossed a team-high 62 2/3 innings while going 7-5 with a 3.02 ERA. Young has struck out 32 against 24 walks.
