SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer welcomed Jack Murphy, a local product who transferred from Fordham University, to join the program this fall.

"I chose Santa Clara because I trusted the coaching staff and felt comfortable with the guys on the team. Everyone here is on the same mission, and that's to win championships, and I wanted to play a part in that journey," said Murphy who attended nearby Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose.

Murphy will have two years of eligibility remaining after he appeared in 17 games over two seasons at Fordham.  He was named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2018.

In high school, Murphy won four CYSA State Championships with Santa Clara Sporting of the USSDA before joining the De Anza Force Academy.  He also competed for Cal North ODP, spending two years on the Cal North State Team, as well as for Region IV ODP.

"Jack just has a great mind for the game and is very intellectual as he is the son of Santa Clara women's associate head coach Gregg Murphy," said Broncos head coach Cam Rast.  "Jack is a very good leader and understands the importance of being a good player and teammate and how that helps a team perform at a high level."
