SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer welcomed Timmy Rast, an All-West Catholic Athletic League defender from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, to join the program this fall.
"I chose Santa Clara because when I stepped on campus it felt like the best fit for me as a student-athlete," said Rast. "I fell in love with the culture of the team and I felt the possibilities are endless with this school and soccer program."
The 6-foot-2 Rast is the son of Santa Clara head men's soccer coach Cam Rast. Timmy Rast was named second-team All-WCAL in 2020 and helped lead the Monarchs to the 2019 Central Coast Section championship.
He played his club soccer for De Anza Force winning back-to-back western regional championships (U.S. Club Soccer) in 2018 and 2019 and made two appearances in the national championships.
"Timmy is a fantastic teammate in that he's supportive in what the team does," said Cam Rast. "He has proven he can complete at a high level playing for the local academy. Timmy's got good size as we are looking to work him at center-back. He will need to mature to handle the physical rigors of college soccer."
