Women's Golf Remains in Second at Rainbow Wahine Invite

KAPOLEI, Hawai'i - Santa Clara women's golf posted its best round of the season, and one of the lowest in school history, on Tuesday at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.

Claire Choi, Lauren Shew and Borina Sutikto each shot a 1-under-par 71 to help the Broncos card a 3-under 285 and remain in second place through 36 holes of the nine-team tournament that is being played at Kapolei Golf Course.

Santa Clara has a two-round total of 5-over 581 and trails only Baylor, ranked No. 6 nationally by Golfstat.com. The Bears lead the field with a 14-under 562 thanks to having four golfers among the top seven, including Britta Snyder who is atop the leaderboard at 7-under 137.

Santa Clara, which leads third-place Idaho by six strokes, has four golfers among the top 15.

Choi is tied for fifth at 1-under 143 and Shew, who had only one bogey in the second round, is eighth at even-par 144. Inara Sharma is tied for 11th at 2-over 146 (74-72) and Sutikto is tied for 15th at 4-over 148.

Olivia Venderby is in 42nd place at 14-over 158 (82-76) for the Broncos whose second-round total was the fourth-lowest in school history and their best since shooting 284 in the final round of the 2019 Fresno State Classic (April 1-2).

One of five individuals in the field, Skyler May is 47th at 20-over 164 (85-79).
