Women's Golf Wraps Up Day One At The Valley Invitational

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf shot a 323-315--638 on Monday in the opening two rounds of the Valley Invitational hosted by Cal Poly and CSU Bakersfield. 

Freshman Borina Sutikto had the top individual finish for the Broncos carding a 3-over 75 in the opening round before finishing the day with an 83 to tie for 33rd at 14-over 158. 

San Francisco is the day one leader at 15-over 298-293--591. The Dons' Riana Mission and Cal Poly's Elizabeth Scholtes are tied for the individual lead at even par 144. 

Claire Choi (81-79--160) is tied for 44th, Marie Jordaan (84-78--162) is tied for 48th, Skyler May (86-77--163) is tied for 50th and Inara Sharma (83-81--164) is tied for 53rd out of the field of 69. May's second round 77 allowed her to jump 14 spots to her current position. Maddie Wu, playing as an individual, is tied for 56th with an 81-84--165. 

The third and final round of the Valley Invitational begins at tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. PT.
