Broncos, Choi On Top Of Leaderboard Once Again

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Fresh off of winning their first tournament title since 2018, Santa Clara women's golf is in prime position to do it once again after 36 holes of action at the Bobcat Desert Collegiate. The Broncos ended the day with a seven-stroke lead in the 11-team field with a two-round tally of 16-over 294-298--592. All five Bronco players finished the day ranked in the top-15 of the field.

Once again, senior Claire Choi finds herself in the driver's seat, carding a 4-under 68-72--140 to take a commanding seven-stroke lead. The Honolulu product is the only player in the field of 58 that is currently under-par. She tallied four birdies as part of her opening round 68, the first round in the 60s of her collegiate career.

Freshman Borina Sutikto is looking to notch her second-straight top-10 finish, closing out day with at 5-over 75-74--149 to tie for sixth. The trio of Lauren Shew, Skyler May and Inara Sharma is tied for 15th at 9-over 153.

Santa Clara leads the second-place Northern Arizona (599) by seven strokes and will look to hold on for tournament win No. 2 in as many weeks when play resumes tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. PT. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
