NOTES
- Santa Clara closed out their home slate last weekend and are on the road for a pair of nonconference matches at Point Loma on Thursday and UC San Diego on Friday.
- The Broncos are 0-4 on the road this season. Point Loma is 10-3 and UC San Diego is 4-5 at home this spring.
- Three seniors - Dasee Carter, JennaMarie Gordon and Giulia Hayer - were recognized prior to the home finale last Sunday.
- Velizara Fileva and JennaMarie Gordon leads the team with three singles wins. Fileva and Gordon also tops the team with four doubles wins along with Dasee Carter.
- During the fall season, Gordon led the team with five singles wins while a trio of Broncos tallied two wins.
- The Broncos are led by first-year head coach Cliford Awuy who was promoted from a volunteer assistant on the SCU men's program. Awuy takes over the program from Ben Cabell who was at the helm for 16 seasons.
- Awuy is assisted by Alory Pereira, a former All-Southern Conference selection at East Tennessee State, who joined the Broncos last September.
- The Broncos return six players from last season: Kacey Feng, Velizara Fileva, JennaMarie Gordon, Giulia Hayer, Finley Kalinic and Varya Zlotnik while adding two newcomers: Dasee Carter and Anna Semler.
During the 2021-22 season:
- Santa Clara finished with a 9-9 overall record including 2-5 in the West Coast Conference.
- Hayer was named All-WCC doubles honorable mention.
- The team finished with a ranking of No. 10 in ITA's Northwest Regional team standings.
- For the fourth year in a row, the ITA recognized the Broncos as a 2022 All-Academic team while eight Broncos were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
- Gordon and Hayer topped the team with 13 overall singles wins.
- Hayer also led the Broncos in overall doubles wins with 16 while Gordon was second with 15.
