Men's Soccer Ties San Jose State in First Spring Match

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer played its first spring game of the season on April 11 at San Jose State. The Broncos and Spartans tied 3-3. Alfred Edmonds, Edson Cardona, and Steve Eneme scored goals for the Broncos. Carlos Delgadillo was taken down in the box for a penalty kick that was converted by Cardona.

"I was really pleased with our team shape and organization during the first game," said Santa Clara head coach Cameron Rast. "We need to be a little more diligent and disciplined in individual defending. We were trying a little to hard instead of relying on each other. That said, I was very pleased with our attacking mindset."

Santa Clara returns to the field on Sat., April 18 at Stanford. The time of the game is TBA.
