SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In its final spring game of the 2015 season, Santa Clara men's soccer topped San Francisco City United by a final of 3-0. The Broncos got goals from Alfie Edmonds, Carlos Delgadillo, and Dylan Autran.

"We scored during the run of play and forced them to foul us which led to a penalty kick," said Santa Clara head coach Cameron Rast. "Our defense played very well with the first shutout of the spring for us. In general our performances steadily got better which is where we wan to be. Now it's a matter of us continuing to build on that."

Now that the spring season is over it is time to finish out the school year and try to maintain momentum over the summer.

"I'm very pleased with the progress we made and cautiously optimistic about what that will mean for us in the fall," said Rast. "I don't think we've played as well on the attack over the last couple years as we did this spring. We also looked much better on the defensive side of it, partly because we are taking some pressure off of them with the attack. Overall I'm very pleased with our spring and very pleased with the team. Now the challenge is to finish up the spring and try and recharge over summer but maintain that form. A lot of them will play all over the country this summer for different clubs and will come in fit for the fall."
