Broncos Fall to UCSB in Third Spring Game

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In the third spring game of the season, Santa Clara men's soccer traveled to Santa Barbara to take on the Gauchos. A late goal sank the Broncos but head coach Cameron Rast was still happy with the team's performance.

"Santa Barbara has been good for a number of years," said Rast. "We traveled down early in the morning, played, and traveled back that night so we knew it wasn't going to be an easy day no matter. We felt like it was a great challenge that we wanted to take on. Our approach and mentality were probably the best they have been all spring. We ended up conceding a goal late but we created some very good chances ourselves. I would have liked to have won because we played well enough to win but we can allow that in the spring. We can allow ourselves to grow in the areas we need to so that in the fall we'll be ready, which I believe we will be."

Santa Clara returns to the field on Sat., May 9 at UC Davis at 4 p.m.
