Cross Country Releases 2019 Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara cross country released its 2019 schedule on Wednesday, announced by head coach Felipe Montoro. The Broncos will race nine times in the fall, including three times outside the state of California. They host the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Oct. 19.

AUGUST

The Broncos open the season once again at the USF Invitational in San Francisco. Last season, the men placed third out of eight teams and had three runners finish in the top 10.

SEPTEMBER

Santa Clara has a pair of split-squad weekends in the second month of competition. The women race at The Stump Invitational (Davis, California – Sept. 13) and Vanderbilt Commodore Classic (Nashville, Tennessee – Sept. 14). On Sept. 28, the men compete at the Oregon Bill Dellinger Invitational (Eugene, Oregon) and both sides will take part in the Capital Cross Challenge (Sacramento, California).

OCTOBER

The team's lone meet in October is its home meet, the Bronco Invitational, at nearby Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, California.

NOVEMBER

Championship season begins at the West Coast Conference Championships Nov. 1 in Los Angeles. The Broncos take to the course at the Doc Adams Invitational on Nov. 9 (Davis, California) before the NCAA West Regional Championships on Nov. 15 (Colfax, Washington). The NCAA National Championship Meet is scheduled for Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH PETE CUSHMAN ON THE SCHEDULE

"We are returning two talented teams, and our schedule is reflective of that. We should have some very good competitive tests at Dellinger, Commodore, and our own invitational prior to the conference championships."
