SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara women's cross country is set for its second competition weekend of the 2019 season. The Broncos will race at The Stump Invitational (Davis, California – Wildhorse Golf Club) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic (Nashville, Tennessee – Percy Warner Park) on Saturday at 7:15 a.m. Both races span 6k.

Vanderbilt: Hannah Aguirre, Claire Cocales, Hannah Covington, Maiya Fujiwara, Sarah King, Ellie Kopf, Emma McCurry, Janie Nabholz, Noelani Obermeyer, Lucie Semone

LAST TIME OUT – USF INVITATIONAL

Janie Nabholz clocked a 22:19.5 and finished in 15^th place to lead the women at the season-opening USF Invitational on Aug. 31 at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow. Newcomers Maiya Fujiwara (25^th – 22:29.4) and Hannah Aguirre (38^th – 22:58.6) scored in their Bronco debuts alongside Sarah King (41^st – 23:10.3) and Noelani Obermeyer (42^nd – 23:10.7). Hannah Covington, Ellie Kopf, Emma McCurry, Lucie Semone, Claire Cocales, Luciana Lenth, Jackie Cruz, Adelaide Vergnolle, Emma Eikelberner, Marisa Sanchez, Kalen Abe and Kaitlyn Twadell also raced.

On Vanderbilt: "This is going to be a very competitive early-season test for us. We wanted an early season challenge against unfamiliar competition in an unfamiliar environment."

On The Stump: "We are sending a very young roster to Davis. We are working on getting more familiarity with college racing and 6k, and this race allows us to race a complete squad this weekend."
