Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Efrain Manzo
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the sixth member of the 2020 recruiting class, Efrain Manzo, a right-handed hitting shortstop from Chandler High in Chandler, Arizona.

"The reason I chose SCU was because of the great coaching staff that can help me achieve my goals, the high academics, and the perfect weather," said Manzo.

The 6-foot-2 Manzo has a .386/.477/.645 slash line and drove in 55 runs over 49 varsity games.  Twenty-nine of his 61 hits went for extra-bases while playing for the Cincinnati Reds Area Code team.

"Ever since we started recruiting Efrain out of Chandler High, all he's done is hit.  He is a physical right-handed bat that will immediately impact our offense the moment he steps foot on campus," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.  "Efrain is also a product of T-Rex baseball club, and is a well rounded infielder who made the Reds Area Code team last summer.  We are excited to welcome the Manzo family to Santa Clara."

Our next future Bronco, Michael Mugan, will be announced the week of Dec. 30.
