Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Michael Mugan
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the seventh member of the 2020 recruiting class, Michael Mugan, a three-time captain at Monterey High in Monterey, California.

The 5-foot-11 Mugan is a versatile player who can play in the infield and the outfield.   During his junior campaign, Mugan batted .400 and drove in 28 runs in 29 games while striking out only five times in 110 plate appearances.  In the last two seasons, he has a .368 batting average, collecting 63 hits.

"I chose Santa Clara because of the amazing opportunities it provides me both athletically and academically," said Mugan.

Mugan is academically ranked in the top-10 of his class and has been named to the honor roll all three years thus far.

"Michael is the true definition of a 'gamer.' He can play nearly anywhere on the field at any time," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.  "He is a versatile athlete who brings plus speed, and outstanding energy to the park.  We are excited to add the Monterey High School and Trosky baseball product to the Bronco family."

Our next future Bronco, Rowan Trosky, will be announced the week of Jan. 6.
