SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the ninth member of the 2020 recruiting class, Case Williams, the top-rated right-handed pitcher in Colorado by both Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report. Williams hails from Douglas County High in Castle Rock.
"Santa Clara has checked all the boxes for me. From a beautiful campus and great education, to a baseball team that is on the rise. I trust that the coaching staff will mold me into the player and man I want to become. I can't wait for my time at Santa Clara," said Williams.
The flame throwing Williams will enter his fourth varsity season in the spring having struck out 134 batters over 94 innings in his career. Last season, the 6-foot-3 Williams posted an 8-1 record with a 1.81 ERA while striking out 79 in 50.1 innings. He also played summer ball for the Rockies Senior Scout team.
"In Case Williams, we have one of the top right-handed arms in the country," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter. "He throws three above average pitches including a low to mid 90's fastball, and has continued to progress every single day while at Douglas County High. A member of the Reds area code team, Case has a chance to crack the starting rotation the day he steps foot on campus. We are extremely excited to welcome the Williams family to Santa Clara."
