SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Four Santa Clara men's golfers are headed down south to compete for the first time this season. The quartet will play as individuals starting Monday at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by Cal State Northridge at the 6,849-yard, par-72 Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif.
"It's a good chance to get them some action," head coach Rob Miller said of senior Will Del Biaggio and freshmen Alex Conley, Nolan Forsman and Oscar Zimmerman.
"The freshmen will get to experience the college setting; playing a 36-hole day," Miller noted. "For Will it's a good chance to get him back in the groove."
Del Biaggio competed in three events last season compiling a 76.56 stroke average over nine rounds.
There is also added incentive for the players with a spot on the team for next week's Pacific Invitational up for grabs.
The field at the Cullum Invitational will consist of 13 teams and 100 players. First-round play features a shotgun start format at 8 a.m. PT. Live scoring and results are available by clicking here.
