Student-Athlete Spotlight: Alex Conley

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Alex Conley appeared in three events during his first year with Santa Clara men's golf. The freshman posted a 73.11 scoring average through the fall with three rounds under par. He posted a season best 67 at the Bill Cullum Invitational in October.

What do you love about SCU?
Our team chemistry is amazing. There's a great feeling of community at Santa Clara and SCU provides opportunities for me both athletically and academically.

Favorite Bronco memory so far?
Traveling to Hawaii with my team to compete. We went to Lihue and it's a trip I'll never forget. 

Favorite class at SCU thus far?
Public Speaking with Professor Ishak. The projects were very beneficial and I learned a lot about myself in that class. 

Biggest inspiration?
Lebron James.

Two truths and a lie?*
I had lunch with Lebron James at his basketball camp at UCSD.
I've made 12 hole-in-ones.
I know Xander Schauffele personally and played with him in a practice round at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Favorite hobby outside of sports?
Hiking.
