Avrit Leads Field, Broncos T-6th After Arizona Intercollegiate Opening Round

TUCSON, Ariz. - Senior Jack Avrit wasted no time making an immediate impact for Santa Clara men's golf in their opening tournament of the 2022 fall slate. The San Luis Obispo product carded a 7-under 65 to lead the 80-man field after the first round of action at the par-72 Tucson Country Club.

The Broncos are currently in a three-way tie for sixth with Arkansas and Iowa State at 3-under 285 following the opening round of play. While the inital plan was to fit in 36 holes on Monday, the second round was suspended early due to darkness. Santa Clara made it through 13 of 18 holes prior to the suspension. The second round will resume first thing in the morning with the final round to be played immediately after.

Konrad Brauckmeyer and Alex Conley are tied for 42nd at 1-over 73 while Berk Harvey and Oscar Zimmerman are a stroke back at 2-over 74.
