LA QUINTA, Calif. - Santa Clara senior golfer Zack Kaneshiro wrapped up his three-day stay at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West by carding a 4-over 75 final round and finish in a three-way tie for ninth for his first top-10 finish of the season.
Kaneshiro finished the tournament 6-over 70-74-75--219 to tie with Oregon's Owen Avrit and Callum Bruce of Kansas. Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg won medalist honors at 3-under 71-69-71--210, as one of just two players to finish sub-par for the tournament.
Santa Clara finished 20th out of the stacked 24-team field at 57-over 909. No. 18 Vanderbilt won the event at 16-over 868.
Berk Harvey tied for 45th at 13-over 76-77-73--226. Alejandro Gutierrez tied for 77th at 17-over 230, and Jack Avrit (237) and Konrad Brauckmeyer (240) tied for 110th and 115th, respectively.
Elsewhere in the state, Jolo Magcalayo led the way for five Bronco Inviduals competiting in the Bay Are Invitational at Ruby Hills, carding a two-day total of 70-73-75--218 to finish in eighth.
