Pair Of Broncos Crack Top-10 At WCC Championship

HENDERSON, Nev. - Santa Clara's Berk Harvey and Alejandro Gutierrez turned in a solid day of play in the second round of the West Coast Conference Championship as the duo climbed up the leaderboard into the top-10 of the field. Harvey is tied for fifth at 2-under 74-68--142 and Gutierrez is a shot back at 1-under 73-70--143 and tied for eighth.

Harvey shook off his slow start from the opening round by tallying seven sub-par holes, including an eagle on the par-5 No. 12. His 4-under 68 gives him three-straight tournaments with at least one round in the 60s.

Gutierrez turned in two birdies on both ends of the card as part of his 2-under 70. He's looking to secure his first top-10 finish of the season.

Santa Clara (9-over 293-292--585) is tied with San Diego for fifth. No. 6 Pepperdine leads the field at 3-under as the only team currently under-par through 36 holes.

Jack Avrit is tied for 25th at 5-over 70-79--149 and Zack Kaneshiro is tied for 38th at 78-75--153.

The Broncos tee off the final round at 8:00 a.m. PT.
