Men's Golf In 10th Place Going Into Last Round of Oklahoma Intercollegiate

Final Results

Edmont, Okla. -- The Santa Clara men's golf team is in tenth place at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate after two rounds. The team as a whole is 60 over par and conditions have a lot to do with it. It was very windy at the beginning and even though a different front moved in to calm the winds a little bit, scores were still high for everyone. There is not a single golfer that is at even par or better going into the last round. With such high scores and unpredictable weather, anything could happen in the last round, but the Bronco still have a steep hill to climp.

Jonathan Keane has led the Broncos so far this tournament. Keane shot dual 76's in each of the first two rounds to end up at +10 which earns him a spot tied for 19th.

Scott Travers saw his streak of par or better rounds come to an end at five when he shot an 81 yesterday, putting him at +10. He found his stroke more today, birdying two of the last three holes to finish at +2 for the day and +12 for the tournament. Travers is currently tied for 25th.

Next for the Broncos is Jimmy Cacho who is tied for 46th with scores of 79 and 80. After last week, having the best tournament for Santa Clara this year, Cacho has struggled a bit in the rough conditions thus far into the tournament.

Tyler Ichikawa (+21) and Blair Myers (+28) round out the field for Santa Clara. Ichikawa had rounds of 81 and 82 and is tied for 52nd. Myers shot an 86 and 84 so far and sits in 60th place.

The Broncos will try to climb back up the standings tomorrow in the final round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate.
