The Santa Clara men's golf team begins it's season Monday, September 10th, at the Saint Mary's Invitational Tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif. where they will be playing the Poppy Hills course. After finishing tied for 5th at last year's WCC Championships, the team looks to rebound and have a strong season this year.
"We're looking forward to a new season," said head coach Robert Miller. "We have a difficult schedule and will be playing many of the top teams in the country on more than one occasion, but this looks like the kind of team that will really improve as the season progresses."
The Broncos will start out with 3 seniors, 1 junior, 3 sophomores, and a freshman. "We have a smaller squad this season," said Miller. "And with a busy fall schedule including 6 tournaments in 2 months, all the players should get plenty of playing time. I expect them to be playing at a high level by the end of the spring."
The lineup for the Saint Mary's Invitational will be senior Blair Myers, junior Jonathan Keane, sophomores Jimmy Cacho and Alex Bon, and freshman Tyler Ichikawa.
