The Santa Clara men's golf team added three new members to their team for the 2008-2009 season this week as Danny Cacho, Cory Mehl, and Ronald Monaco all signed national letters of intent to play for Santa Clara next year.

Fairfield, Calif. native Danny Cacho is the younger brother of current Santa Clara golfer Jimmy Cacho. Danny comes from Justin-Siena High School in Napa, Calif. where he played basketball as well as golf. Cacho boasts two national junior tour wins to his resume, with several other top five finishes. He also qualified for the 106th Annual NCGA Match Play Championship at Spyglass in August of 2007. In high school play, Cacho was named 1st Team All-League in 2006 and 2007. The team MVP and captain led his team to a first place finish at the 2007 MCAL Championship Tournament where he received first place medalist honors. The year before he took home second place honors. In 2005-2006 Cacho was named an All-American on the Future Collegian World Tour

Corey Mehl comes from Seattle, Wash. where he attended O'Dea High School. A four year varsity player and the team's number one player all four years, Mehl's scoring average in 2007 was a low 69.4. In addition to his high school play, he has won six tournaments in 2007, including a first place finish at the AJGA Smithfield Junior Championships in a field of 74. Mehl has recorded two holes-in-one and also holds the course record at Jefferson Park in Seattle, Wash. where he shot a 60. He was named to Team Washington in 2007 and Team USA in 2006 where he helped the team to a second place finish. Mehl was also featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd section in 2005.

Ronnald Monaco hails from Ontario Christian High School in Ontario, Calif. Monaco was named League MVP in 2006 and 2007 and also played in the 2007 Junior Amateur Championship.
