Lindsey VanAllen Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Senior guard Lindsey VanAllen has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after setting career-highs in scoring against both Pepperdine and San Francisco as Santa Clara women's basketball started the conference slate with a pair of wins.

VanAllen started the week off with a then-career-high 27 points in the Broncos 74-64 win over the Waves. She was 10-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

She came back on Saturday in Santa Clara's 83-78 victory over the Dons to post a new career-high with 28 points. That day she was 8-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-7 from downtown while also going 9-of-11 from the free throw line.

VanAllen did all this despite having not played since December 14 due to an ankle injury sustained against Kansas City. She currently leads the team in scoring at 17.0 points per game, good for third in the WCC. She is shooting 45.8-percent and 40.9-percent from 3-point land.

The Broncos are back in action later today at San Francisco at 5 p.m. and return home Thursday for a matchup with LMU.
