Road Trip Concludes for Women's Basketball Wednesday at UC Santa Barbara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Finishing up a five-game road trip, Santa Clara women's basketball plays at UC Santa Barbara Wednesday at 7 p.m.

At the Tiger Turkey Tipoff Thanksgiving Tournament over the weekend, the Broncos beat Marquette 65-62 but fell to Montana State 77-50.

Santa Clara is 5-5 all-time vs. UC Santa Barbara with the first meeting coming during the 1980-81 season. Last season the Broncos topped the Gauchos 48-37 in Santa Barbara.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-3) is shooting 37.9 percent from the field this season with a 30.7 mark from beyond the arc. The broncos are outrebounding opponents 38.4-36.0 are forcing 16.4 turnovers per game.

Three Broncos are scoring in double-figures with Morgan McGwire's 12.8 per game tied for the team lead. She leads the team in shooting percentage with a 48.1 percent mark and is adding 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.4 blocks per game.

Emily Wolph is also scoring 12.8 ppg and leads the team with 11 3-pointers made. Wolph is also tops on the team with 4.4 assists per game.

Marie Bertholdt is scoring 12.4 ppg and is second on the Broncos with 6.4 rpg. She leads the team with 26 free throws made and 31 attempted.

Lori Parkinson leads Santa Clara with 8.6 rebounds per game and 1.8 steals per game while scoring 9.0 ppg. Taylor Berry is adding 9.6 ppg to go with 5.0 rpg and 1.6 spg.

THE GAUCHOS
UC Santa Barbara (2-3) is being outscored on the season by an average of 64.0-60.4 and outrebounded 37.2-31.8. The Gauchos commit 18.0 turnovers per game while dishing out 13.2 assists.

Coco Miller leads the team in scoring with 12.4 ppg in a team-high 35.0 minutes per game. Miller also adds 4.6 rpg.

Drew Edelman is scoring 12.2 ppg and leads the team with 5.2 rpg. She is also shooting a team-best 62.8 percent from the field but struggles from the free throw line, posting a mark of just 46.7 percent.

Sarah Porter has been UC Santa Barbara's biggest threat from deep, hitting 11 3-pointers while scoring 9.4 ppg. Onome Jemerigbe leads the team with 4.6 apg and is scoring 8.4 ppg as well.
