WAYZATA, Minn. - The Santa Clara University men's golf team struggled on the opening day of the Gopher Invitational at Spring Hill Golf Club in Wayzata, Minnesota. All-West Coast Conference senior Cory Mehl shot rounds of 75 and 79 to tie for 48th as the top SCU finisher heading into final round play Monday.

The Broncos sit in 14th as a team in the 14-school event. SCU is playing with a pair of true freshmen, Brett Komoto and Colin Gunstream as well as returners Ronnald Monaco (pictured) and Bobby Monaco (no relation).
