RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – Santa Clara University sophomore Bobby Monaco (pictured) finished first-round play of the University of San Diego's 2012 The Farms Collegiate Invitational at 2-over par (74) and Ronnald Monaco fired a one-under 71 in round two. Bobby was just six shots off the lead and in 16th-place individually after the first 18 holes.
Ronnald's second round 71 pushed him into the top 35 entering Tuesday's final round. As team, Santa Clara posted rounds of 321 and 318, and will need to improve on those totals to move up the leaderboard as the tournament continues Tuesday. No. 15 San Diego State is just 2-over par as a team to pace all 14 schools in the field and is trailed by five shots by Santa Clara's WCC rival St. Mary's.
