SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Scott Lowe posted an opening-round 67 and went on to finish the 2012 University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale tied for 28th among a 122-player field at the par 70, 7,133-yard layout at Talking Stick Golf Club. Lowe was Santa Clara's top performer, going 67-71-72 for a three-round total of even-par 210.

Lowe, a sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, has played extremely well over the past two weeks. He was coming off a career-best 13th-place performance in Santa Barbara and aims to bring that momentum into next week's West Coast Conference Championships.

The WCC Golf Championships (for both the men and women) will be held at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister, Monday through Wednesday, April 16-18.

SCU senior Ronnald Monaco will also be playing well going into the season's final event, as he came in under par through the first 18 holes in Scottsdale, and would finish 69-75-73 for a total of 7-over par, 217. True freshman Brett Komoto shot a final round 71.

As a team, the Broncos came in 20th. Kansas State emerged as the team champions at 14-under par collectively. WCC rival San Diego was 11-under and placed third. Kansas State's Ben Juffer posted 65-66-67 and won indivdual medalist honors via a playoff with Colorado State's Mike Wuertz.
